About SABOTEN
About SABOTEN
-- Beauty in silence --
In a bustling world,
SABOTEN is a vessel that allows you to pause for a moment.
Not for decoration,
To gently integrate into your daily life.
Morning coffee, quiet evening tea,
Near your usual dining table.
The vessels are born from the earth,
Each piece is hand-crafted in a small kiln in Japan.
We believe that " LESS IS MORE ".
An honest shape without any flashiness.
There is some wiggle room and space left on purpose.
We are not in the decoration,
I believe there is beauty in stillness and in between .
A vessel that will gently accompany you every day
SABOTEN tableware is not for special occasions.
In the midst of everyday life,
It's for subtle beauty .
These vessels do not speak loudly.
But it continues to be there.
Before you know it, it will become a part of your life.
Carefully crafted in Higashiyama, Kyoto
SABOTEN is based in Higashiyama, Kyoto.
Time flows a little more slowly,
It is a place where tradition can be felt without being spoken of.
Some of the vessels feature designs by stencil dyeing artist Masayuki Isa.
Clay and patterns, techniques and ideas overlap,
It gives off a new look every time you use it.
By letting go a little,
A space is created in your heart.
In that margin,
We believe there is true abundance.
